Dogs are allowed on this GPS walk (not on all paths in the Kalmthout Heath). The heath is already a vulnerable area, so please keep your dog on a leash during the walk. Our dog also likes to roll in the sand and sniff here and there. If you leave early in the morning, you might even encounter some deer. You can shorten the walk to 6 km if you don't take the loop. Park and depart at NEC De Vroente, Putsesteenweg 129, Kalmthout (also camper parking). Stappersven, Kalmthoutse Heide is an article you can read in the NATUUR.BLAD edition June/July/August 2016. The heath is at its most beautiful at the end of August/September when it is in bloom. The route runs along forest paths, sandy roads, by ponds and heath, and water features such as the Putse Moer.
