The Church of our Lady of the Nativity dates from 1785 and nine ceramic reliefs have been built on the outer walls for the circumnavigation of Saint Anthony Abbot and Saint Nicholas of Tolentine, respectively protector of the cattle and hope of the farmers. Schuiferskapelle is therefore still a very rural village. Start from the back of the church to the right along the main lane and after 30 meters walk immediately left into the Biermanstraat. Turn left 450 meters further into Waalbosstraat. On the right you have a beautiful view of the white hull of the Kapellemolen (1), a former grist and oil mill, already mentioned in the early seventeenth century. The landscape will soon be completely open and very quiet with a mosaic of fields, meadows and trees on the left and right.• A few hundred meters further you already have a beautiful old farmyard on the right (2). Ignore the Kapelleweg a little further to the left and continue straight on in the Waalbosstraat and turn right another 200 meters further into the Kapelleweg. After 700 meters, ignore the gravel road on the right and turn left further on the asphalt. On the left you see a typical farm with whitewashed farmhouse (3) and half a kilometer further on you have a high lane of canada poplars on the right. Walk straight ahead, the Kapelleweg is now called Hekkestraat. Turn right half a kilometer past a poplar drive and just before the Ruiseledesteenweg turn right into the Kleiweg, a narrow asphalt road. After 400 meters, ignore the wide earth road in front of you and turn right on the asphalt. The Kleiweg takes you past another farm and through a leafy lane and is now called Galgestraat. • After 600 meters and two farms further you have on the right a beautiful picturesque ditch (4) with, among other things, moorhen and mallard. Half a kilometer further, ignore an exit on the right and the Grietjensgalgestraat on the left and walk straight ahead. The Galgestraat finally takes you via a Mariakapelletje (5) and a wide left turn to a T-junction. Ignore the Abeelstraat on the left and walk to the right in the Biermanstraat and turn left 50 meters further next to another chapel (6) in the Rijkegemkouterstraat. • (Here you can shorten and walk straight along the Biermanstraat. You will then arrive at Schuiferskapelle-Dorp after just over a kilometer. The walk is then 7.5 kilometers long). The asphalt track will soon become a concrete road. After 800 meters, leave the Polderstraat on the left and ignore the Veldstraat a kilometer further on the right and walk straight ahead. Turn right at the intersection for another 300 meters, still in the Rijkegemkouterstraat and then turn right 100 meters further into the Tommekouterstraat. • Walk straight ahead at the intersection with Hullestraat and 750 meters further at the T-junction to the right, into the Kapellebeekwegel. The Kapellebeekwegel takes you to the big track, the Schuiferskapelsesteenweg. Cross it, walk to the right and immediately turn left into Steenakkerstraat. Via a right-angled bend to the left and one to the right you come to the Dosseweg. Walk to the right. After 700 meters you will return to the big track. Turn left into Henri D'Hontstraat, ignore all side streets and after 500 meters you are back at the village church of Schuiferskapelle.
