🚴‍♂️ Road bike route to the idyllic Moere – 80 km of charm and challenge 🚴‍♀️

Feeling like a ride full of charm, quiet country roads, and a few tough climbs? Hop on your racing bike and let yourself be carried away on a loop through the rolling heart of West Flanders, with the gem of the crown: the idyllic Moere.

📍 Starting point: Stroroute – Roeselare
📏 Distance: ± 80 km
⛰ Difficulty: Moderate – ideal for those who enjoy rolling roads and an occasional tough climb

🗺 The route at a glance:

We start leisurely along the Stroroute, warming up the legs towards Westrozebeke, and then immediately sink our teeth into the Stadenberg – a nice opener for the calves. We roll along rural roads to the charming Couchezmolen in Kortemark and then to the Wullepitmolen in Zarren, where the landscape shows its typical West Flemish character.

We continue cycling through Werken and Leke to the rural Moere, a place that feels like a postcard – ideal for a short break or a refreshing drink stop.

The return journey playfully takes us up to the Koekelareberg, also known as the "Poggio of the West." After a steep climb, a smooth descent follows along Ruidenberg towards Edewalle. As the Wijnendalebos greets us from afar, we prepare for the finale.

Via Sint-Henricus and Gits, one last challenge awaits: the Gitsberg. After that, it’s a gentle roll over quiet country roads along Most and De Ruiter until we return to our starting point.
