There is a necessary requirement to enjoy a beautiful panorama: a high vantage point. In this case, that is the Hotond, which at 151 meters is the highest hilltop in East Flanders. The old windmill that stands there has been converted into an observation tower. The route runs through the charming villages of Zulzeke and Kwaremont. The latter hamlet is known as a waypoint for artists and galleries, and from the Tour of Flanders.
