During this tour, you will cross the border four times! The Het Merkske valley, the natural border to the Netherlands, offers 1900 hectares of untouched nature. Here, the river flows freely, resulting in a unique landscape and the cheerful song of birds like the Wielewaal and the nightingale. Walking along the magnificent avenues of Wortel-Colony, you will reach the ponds of Castelreesche Heide. Although the stream valley can sometimes be very wet, bridges and boardwalks ensure that your feet stay dry. The De Klapekster visitor center provides a pleasant conclusion to your outing.
