Het Diepven can still be seen in all its glory, potatoes and grass now grow on the site of the former Nunnen.

Confusion arose a few years ago about the names of the fens. The vernacular in Ulicoten – contrary to what has been stated on the topographic maps for more than a century and a half – calls the southern ven Diepven and the northern Nonnenven. The peculiar thing about this is that the latter is much deeper than the former! If you find your way along the two fens between junctions 22, 36 and 35: don't worry about the names, but above all enjoy the beautiful landscape. When you come across a horse and carriage, it is completely a quiet picture.
