About a good hundred meters past the village center of Kalken, you find yourself with both feet in the Kalkense Meersen. In this endless patchwork of meadows and grasslands, the inhabited world sometimes seems far away. Both in distance and in time, as is evident from the archaeological finds that continue to emerge here.
