For this beautiful junction walk we thought to park the car in the spacious parking lot of Happyland on the Tessenderloseweg but that was disappointing. It was Sunday and the parking lot was closed. Then parked the car in one of the streets on the walk itself. That too was a bit of a search. Those who want to play it safe can park at the cemetery of Engsbergen or at the parking of VK Penarol Engsbergen in the Lindenstraat.

The walk is very rural with quite a few forests. It runs for about 9 km on unpaved roads. The paved roads are car-free. On the way you will pass through the nature reserve "Houterenberg". Only the hull of this stone top crawler has survived. It was a mountain or belt mill, which was founded in 1826. In 1930, the roof of the mill was torn off in a storm. In 1978 the remaining part was purchased by the municipality of Tessenderlo.
