Inspired by Mrs. J. Padre, I have adjusted the walk to include more unpaved paths here and there. As a variation, the walk has also been extended to the old canal route Brussels - Charleroi. I didn't encounter any other walkers. Nevertheless, I love Walloon Brabant, as you sometimes feel like you're in the Ardennes, and yet it's only an hour's drive from Antwerp. The walk is quite challenging (300 meters of elevation according to my GPS) and runs for 50% on the GR12. Ittre also has its charm as a village with a few museums. A visit to the musée Marthe Donas is a must for art lovers, just be aware of the opening hours! When heading to Terperse, I also see that a similar walk has been posted by Pascal Brakman himself under the title: Ittre GR12 bois d'appechauwalk. Parking is available at the oval-shaped square Les Planchettes.
