Tour of the Liège Hills / Tour des Collines Liègeoises

The Tour of the Liège Hills is a 45 km long hiking loop over the hilltops, spoil tips, and valley slopes of the Meuse and Ourthe that circle the city. The route is a remarkable sequence of urban landscapes, parks, nature, and industrial heritage. It offers some of the most beautiful panoramas in Belgium, not only of the city of Liège but also extending to the Netherlands and Germany. The route consists of three stages, each starting and ending at a train station.

This third stage departs from the Saint-Lambert station near the central Place Saint-Lambert and ends at the main station Guillemins. We immediately climb the hill of Favechamps and the Parc Jean Lejeune where we get unforgettable views of the city and the endpoint of our walk. A detour over the Terril Sainte-Barbe et Tonne then leads us southwards to the old neighborhoods of Sainte-Marguérite and Carré. In Saint-Nicolas, we walk over the spoil grounds of Piron, which offers an unparalleled panorama over the southern Meuse valley. Finally, we steeply descend through the parks of Cointe to the Guillemins station.
