The Bezembinders Route is particularly beautiful. It shows the Kempen along its best side. You pass forest roads, vast landscapes with towers of churches or abbeys in the distance, along the famous Boshuisje, forts, castles and canals. With its numerous birches, these Kempen also made many brooms. Indeed, the birch branches are very suitable to manufacture this primitive felling instrument. Broom maker used to be a common profession in this region. If you are lucky you may see, at dusk and if the wind is favorable, a witch flying over on her broom.
