Varied walk in the forest and agricultural area with some war relics and monuments from the First World War. Gently rolling landscape with beautiful stream valleys. You also cross 2 British military cemeteries. Wear appropriate footwear in wet conditions.

You walk to the Polygon Marker opposite the entrance of café ‘De Dreve’ and follow the arrows of the ‘Nonnenbossen walking route’ (2nd left and 1st right) until you reach the intersection with a bench where you encounter both a sign for the ‘Nonnenbossen walking route’ and the ‘Legacy walking route’. Here, turn left onto the Legacy walking route (also a GR path) and continue straight ahead until you reach the gate of the British cemetery ‘Buttes New British Cemetery’. In the meantime, you pass the ‘Scott Post bunker’, which you can briefly deviate from the route to visit. You take the gate and walk left towards the exit of the cemetery. Those who wish can first enjoy the beautiful view from the target hill. After leaving the ‘Buttes New British Cemetery’, cross the road to ‘Polygon Wood Cemetery’. You cross this cemetery and exit through the gate at the back. Turn right onto the GR path until you reach the new parking lot, leave this parking lot on your left, cross the ‘Lange Dreve’ again, and walk straight ahead into the forest path (so do not turn right immediately) which later bends to the left. When you leave the forest, take the path to the right and follow the arrows of the ‘Legacy walking route’ until the first intersection. Here, take the first path to the left. You continue to walk straight at the various intersections, the path continues into a church path. When you reach the first house and hit asphalt again, turn left into it. Follow this asphalt road to a T-junction (at the farm). At the T-junction, take the Old Wervik road to the left and then a bit further turn right onto the unpaved road. At the first intersection, turn right by the large shed and follow the ‘Heksen walking route’ (1st right and then 1st left that runs in front of a house). Once back on the asphalt, leave the ‘Heksen walking path’ because you take the Old Kortrijk street to the right. At the restaurant ‘De Merlijn’ and café ‘De Reutel’, walk straight onto the Old Kortrijk street. Keep the Reutelbos on your right (those who wish can take the extra walk of about 800 m in the Reutelbos: see information board at the entrance of the Reutelbos) and cross the Polygonebeek. Be careful of vehicle traffic here! After crossing the Polygonebeek, take the first path to the right and walk the path between the peace forest and the meadow. Follow this path further until a gate appears on the right at the end of the (sheep) meadow. Take this gate to the right and walk until the next gate to the left which you also take. You follow the forest path. When you come out of the forest, turn left and continue between the stream valley (left) and the new forest planting (right). Take the various boardwalk paths there. Shortly after the boardwalk path bends to the right, you reach a bench. At this bench, turn left and take 2 more short boardwalk paths. You then walk straight again into the Polygon forest. Follow this forest path which later bends to the right. At the intersection (with a wooden gnome hat), continue straight until you reach an asphalt road. But just before that, take the forest path (do not walk on the asphalt road) until after about 400 meters you can turn onto the first path to the right. Take this forest road to the right until the café De Dreve appears again.
