Start / Arrival at the church of Pamel Kwinkeleer distance 11.8 km
The bunker was part of the 'Iron Wall', built in 1939-1940. Bunker B1 and the surrounding meadow were purchased by the municipality of Roosdaal in 1999. It is a calming place along the 'Dikke van Pamel walking path'.
At Hof te Wolfput you can still see a marker post. This was part of an Iron Wall (IJM) that zigzagged from the Dender over a distance of just over one kilometer in the direction of Meerbeke. The marker posts held the beginning/end element of the 'interrupted' strip of Iron Wall that was an unworked piece of land overgrown with grasses and herbs. As a result, the recessive erosion has less grip there, and a little step is formed.
Statue of Dikke van Pamel Klercq". He was born in Pamel on June 14, 1848, and died there on February 16, 1885. Guessing his actual weight is difficult, but Victor was an enormously broad and heavy figure. On September 9, 2001, a statue was unveiled at Kaaistraat in Roosdaal. The statue was designed by artist Patrick Van Craenenbroeck.
Nature house Lovely nature house in Roosdaal, located in the beautiful Pajottenland! The nature house was created through the reconstruction of a reclaimed wooden frame from the Ardennes. The owners used only ecological materials for this. The donation to the Sint-Jansgasthuis in Brussels took place in the course of the 13th century, and later to the abbey of Ninove. Served by a few minor brothers, from the 17th century until the dissolution during the French Revolution. Reopened from 1825 onwards.
Sint-Gaugericuskerk The church in neo-Gothic style was built in 1903 according to a design by Jules Goethals. It was solemnly consecrated on September 8, 1921, by Cardinal Mercier. The last suisse or church bailiff in the Sint-Gaugericuskerk of Pamel was Josephus Desiderius Cautaerts.
The church was built to replace a vanished church building that was further west, near the Dender at a place that then formed the center of Pamel. As early as 1179 there was a church here that was enlarged in 1868-69. The church tower was raised in 1878, but the tower collapsed the year
