Leefdaal-Huldenberg-Leefdaal 20.5 km Loop walk most beautiful

A challenging walking route in a beautiful landscape with wide views and through the moist stream valleys of the IJse and the Voer characterized by a diversity of plants and insects.

We start at the church square of Leefdaal heading south via the Neerijse steenweg and follow the walking junctions (KP) 5-50-51-510-208-207-218-217-216-25-26-27-28.

Along the IJse we reach Huldenberg and we are about halfway through the walk. Maybe useful to know: in the pastor's forest, there is a beautifully located shaded picnic spot.

From KP 28 via path 54 in Huldenberg, we reach Elzasstraat and follow it to the right until the town square.

In search of the picnic area, we cross Borremanstraat via the zebra crossing and take the stairs on the right to the O.L. Virgin Church.

Admire on the facade of the southern side chapel one of the oldest sundials (1764) from the region on this three-nave Gothic church (origin 13th century).

Behind the church, we reach uphill on the left, the hall ‘Pastor's Forest’. Just past there on the left, there is an access to the play forest where we find the picnic table and benches.

We can exit the pastor's forest downwards and follow A. Goossensstraat on the left until the first street on the right (E. Gilisstraat). We immediately take the first left where we encounter junction 20.

We follow right towards 21-22-23-203-204-205-206-509-505-506-59-58-57 towards 05 until we reach the church square of Leefdaal, our endpoint.

If you do not use the picnic table in Huldenberg, then follow KP 28-2-20-21, etc.
