A relatively flat bike ride along low-traffic roads through Herk-de-Stad on the way there and through Geetbets on the way back.
In a wide curve, you cycle around Zonhoven through a wooded area.
This leads you to the water ponds of the wet nature reserve De Wijers.
Be sure to climb the observation tower there where you can get a magnificent wide view over the numerous ponds present.
A little further on in Bolderberg, you will surely be able to find a snack and a drink in the many dining establishments available there.
