The Grote Markt of Dendermonde serves as the beautiful backdrop and starting point for the Ros Beiaard cycling route, a delightful ride of 46 km over a flat course. Once every ten years, the famous Ros Beiaard – the giant horse on which the four Heemskinderen sit – parades through the center streets of Dendermonde. The Ros Beiaard cycling route starts from the historic city where the Scheldt and Dender meet and takes you along two rivers that play a crucial role in the Ros Beiaard story.
