This hike begins at the church of Bérismenil. Follow the yellow cross and you will walk into the wild Ardennes, where the Ourthe has carved out the rocks into deep valleys for centuries. The hike is only 7 kilometers long, but that doesn't make it any less sporty: expect an elevation difference of 340 m. The journey starts with a steep descent to the Ourthe. 80 m above the river lies the old Celtic fortress of Cheslé. According to legend, a fabulous treasure is hidden in the middle of the camp, which can only be seen on Christmas Eve after the midnight bells ring.
Along the Ourthe, you continue walking over a narrow fishermen's trail with a stunning view of the wild river. And then, of course, you have to climb back up.
