Follow in the footsteps of Wilfried Peeters. This bike tour is 77 kilometers long and consists of two loops of 30 and 47 kilometers. This way everyone, recreational cyclist to seasoned cycling tourist, can indulge themselves. At the start you will find an information board with the cycling route. The Fitte

Wilfried Peeters, also known as 'the Fitte', was born in Mol on 10 July 1964. Wilfried started his cycling career at the Balense Bicycle Club. From 1986 to 2001 he was a professional cyclist.

Wilfried was best known as a specialist in cobblestone racing and rode a total of 33 monuments, including the Tour de France 9 times. Here he won the team time trial twice in 1993 and 1994.

Honours

In 1994 he won Gent-Wevelgem. In 1998 he finished 3rd in Paris-Roubaix, a year later he achieved a 2nd place.
After his cycling career, he became team leader of Patrick Lefevere's Quick-Step team, where he has used his experience as a cyclist for more than 21 years to lead the team in the cobblestone classics and other rounds.

His team leadership career also coincided with many victories of Tom Boonen for many years.

Wilfried has three children: Yasmien and twins Laura and Yannick. Yannick has also been a rider for several years. He became European champion in cyclo-cross once and Belgian champion 2 times.
