Our 2-day journey through Viroinval. We departed from Nismes, hiking northeast through forest and the Callestienne, then crossed the Viroin near Dourbes. After a steep climb, we arrived at la Croix Sauvage and walked on to Olloy-sur-Viroin, where we stayed overnight at Camping Ardinam. On the 2nd day, we returned towards Nismes, passing by a quarry with La Roche aux Faucons in the distance. We walked along an old railway line (which is back in use) before hiking uphill towards Les Abannets. After that, we reached the highlight of our trip, the Fondry des Chiens. This is a 20m deep sinkhole, formed by eroded limestone. P.S.: Check the attached youtube link for the video of this 2-day trip.
