This walk starts at the church of Kaggevinne. After 250m on Dietsestraat, we turn into Groenstraat. Here we already get the first Hageland view. Just the beginning of all the beautiful views presented to you on this walk. After 2km we take a dirt road. This dirt road leads us over a hill, with a forest on the right and an open view over the fields on the left. After 3km, halfway along Roeterstraat, there is the first panoramic moment: a beautiful hilly view. We continue walking and when we are 3.5km in we arrive at an ideal picnic spot: the old oak of Kaggevinne. This spot was also featured in the TV series De Smaak van De Keyser and has a picnic field and some benches. Via Prinsenbosstraat we make a shortcut to a dirt road. Between kilometer 4.5 and 5.5 there are several beautiful images typical for Hageland. We walk along a narrow dirt road, an avenue leading to the beautifully stretched panorama. We continue over a dirt road until we turn right at farm Prinsenbos and enter the Prinsenbos. In this forest, through winding paths, when we reach 7.5km, we will come to the Holy Heart statue of Bekkevoort. The statue that appears right at the beginning of the film ‘De Witte van Zichem’ and overlooks the district of Assent. The statue is also clearly visible to traffic from the Staatsbaan Diest-Leuven. When we leave the statue behind us, we continue through dirt paths and open meadows towards Galgenberg. On a long dirt road of about 2km, we get a few last views over the area. When we are 10km in, we arrive at Galgenberg. We descend along a sunken road. When we are a total of 12km in, we reach Dongelstraat, where a final climb will bring us back to Diestsebaan. Upon arrival at the church, we will have covered a total of 13km.
