Official (H)ettingen Walking Route

Enjoy this walk along slow roads in and around the Ettingebos. This ancient forest, located between Oosterzele and Scheldewindeke in the north and Balegem in the south, adjoins the castle park of Keiberg, situated in the valley of the Ettingebeek. To the south of the Ettingebos lies the distillery ‘Van Damme’ and to the west and south of it are 2 windmills, the Windekemolen and the Guillotinemolen, which can be seen on the walk.

In early 2020, Natuurpunt Oosterzele purchased 12 hectares of the Ettingebos. This way, they aim to preserve and enhance this beautiful piece of nature. Part of the forest is already accessible to the public.
