The route starts at the site Onze Kinderen, at the intersection of Blommestraat and Hoogstraat. Vzw Xplo and the Roeselare hockey club are located there. The route is 14.5 km long. It begins via the walking and cycling path in the residential area of the Warellesgoed. Through the 6-armed roundabout of Maria’s Linde, you can skate further towards the second sports site in Rumbeke, which is Rista, where you can play tennis, padel, soccer, run, and gym. The skating route continues towards the R32 (which you pass underneath), where you can already see the enormous AZ Delta site from afar. The skating route south of the R32 consists of long straight rural roads. You can enjoy the tranquility and pick up some speed. You can connect to the skating route Izegem: Bosmolens, the skating route Ledegem: Sint-Elooiswinkel, and the skating route Roeselare: Beitem. You then pass the Babilliehoeve and the nature reserve De Kleiputten, a former clay pit now managed as open water and wetland area. You finish along the Bergmolenbos and the beautiful castle domain Sterrebos, the green lung south of the city.

The Skating Network Midwest branches out over the municipalities of Ardooie, Hooglede, Ingelmunster, Izegem, Ledegem, Lichtervelde, Meulebeke, Moorslede, Oostrozebeke, Pittem, Roeselare, Ruiselede, Staden, Tielt, Wielsbeke, and Wingene with a total distance of approximately 450 km. You skate for kilometers through a varied rural and urban landscape. Besides the beautiful views, there are also nice rest spots. You discover the strengths of the 16 municipalities in three tourist regions: the Leie region, the Bruges Ommeland, and the Westhoek. Both recreational and advanced skaters will find something to enjoy. Runners, walkers, cyclists, and others can also enjoy this unique network within the Midwest region!
