Zeeuws-Flemish Polders and Waas Waterlands

A very pleasant flat cycling tour mainly on low-traffic paths. This tour particularly focused on tranquility and a relaxing feeling. Apart from a brief passage through the town of Hulst, the old medieval fortress town also known as the most Flemish city in the Netherlands. Life pulses here, and a cozy atmosphere is always experienced on one of the many terraces. Tip: Every Sunday all shops are open here, convenient for grabbing a drink or purchasing provisions, since we are at the very beginning of our cycling tour. Shortly after leaving Hulst, we dive back into the quiet of beautiful nature: polders and streams. After the peaceful village of Axel, we quickly return to Waasland. This last section of our tour is a dream for recreational cyclists: along car-free dike paths and river paths, we cycle through a landscape crisscrossed by canals, waterways, ditches, streams, and meadows. Stress or passing cars are far away here, nature practically clings to our skin, enhancing our experience. This tour has no specific signage and includes some gravel sections.
