The Lion of Waterloo is a memorial for the bloody Battle of Waterloo on June 18, 1815, where Napoleon was finally defeated.
The monument was erected between 1823 and 1826 at the initiative of King William I of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands.
This memorial for the over 50,000 fallen or wounded soldiers is located in the municipality of Eigenbrakel (Braine-l'Alleud) in the Belgian province of Walloon Brabant.
