This walk departs from Jezus-Eik, a village that owes its origin to a gigantic oak tree that has been repeatedly struck by lightning and was popularly known as Devil's Oak. After a crucifix was placed on the tree, it was renamed Jesus Oak (Jezus-Eik). Near the Flossenweg, a pond ("flosse") has formed and is partly covered with yellow irises.
This walk is not marked on the ground, use the Routeyou app or follow the wooden posts with a blue stripe. The route can be downloaded from www.visittervuren.be and is also described in a hiking brochure available at the reception center, Markt 7B in Tervuren. Suggested route on the Zoniënwoud virtual hiking network.
