Departing from the Espinette-Central (Middenhut) car park, take a walk among the old beech trees on the edge of the Sonian forest. The edge vegetation, more dense and branched, will protect you from wind, noise and dust during your walk, as it also protects the fragile bark of beech trees from sunburn. This walk passes through the Queen's Route, named after Queen Marie-Henriette, wife of Leopold II, who sometimes walked in this part of the forest.
