Loppem; Day walker to Zedelgem

Start parking castle Loppem, Steenbruggestraat 8210 Loppem
Through the castle park, to the Rietmeerswijk. In the Molendreef we follow the St. Martens path along the E403 and then cross the Rijselsestraat. In the Zeeweg we find the Doeveren path which we follow to the left. In the Doeveren domain, it can be very muddy in the open field. There, the path is also difficult to follow. Follow the grassy path towards a solitary tree; there lies a log bridge. Further on the path is marked with some wooden posts.

Thus we arrive at Het Merkenveld. Further on, we follow the old railway towards Zedelgem. The little forest to the left conceals the municipal cemetery, where we take the grassy path to the right (there’s a sign saying "private") and we encounter 2 walking gates. At the end, turn left. The Loppemsestraat takes us to the abbey corner. Along the Watermolenput, we arrive at the Rolleweg and the Eninkstraat. After passing the railway, we return to the parking.
