In 1956, a freight train derailed in Whistler, and the train cars are now scattered in a hidden forest.
Unlike previous walks, we are mostly alone in the forest here. Yellow signs warn us of bears present and give us a scared heart. It is a varied walk through dark woods, high grass fields, and over a train track. Crossing a bridge over a wildly swirling river, we reach the train cars from the infamous train accident. Graffiti artists have let loose, and the cars are now enriched with colorful drawings.
The atmosphere in the forest is special. The crashed cars from the 1950s create a mysterious and dark ambiance. Or is it due to the proximity of bears?
A new suspension bridge has recently opened, so you no longer have to go along the dangerous route by the train tracks. We only realized that too late...
