Seewen is a municipality in the district of Dorneck in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland. Baslerweiher is a pond above the village.
Seewen is first mentioned in 1147 as Sewin. The village's name means "at the lakes" in Old High German, a reference to the former Lake Seewen that was drained in the late 16th century.
