The Lukmanier Pass connects the cantons of Graubünden (Disentis/Mustér) and Ticino (Biasca). The pass is 1,914 m high and its length is 65 km. The pass separates the Romansh and the Italian language areas. The Passo del Lucomagno derives from the Latin "Lucus magnus," which means great forest. The Lukmanier Pass Nature Park is characterized by alpine meadows, marshes, and coniferous forests with Swiss stone pines and larches.
