The Bob Run Arosa in the Swiss spa and sports resort of Arosa was one of the oldest bobsleigh and luge tracks in the world. It was first put into operation in the winter of 1897/98 and existed at various locations until 1946.
With the rise of winter tourism at the end of the 19th century, the popularity of bobsledding and luge sports in Arosa significantly increased among guests and locals. Thus, in 1896, a plan was created for an artificial toboggan run on the right bank of the Plessur River from Mühleboden to Isel. In 1897, the first developed toboggan run existed from the village square down to the Grand Hotel. That year also saw the first "international toboggan race," among others with notable participants from Davos and Klosters. For this, the Arosa spa association donated a first traveling trophy worth 250.-- francs.
