The Federal Court building is located in Lausanne in the canton of Vaud. It is the main seat of the Federal Court and is among the cultural assets of national significance in the canton of Vaud.
Due to the limited space at the court's previous location in the Palais de Justice, the federal government decided to create a new and larger courthouse. Consequently, an architectural competition was announced in 1913. The architects Louis-Ernest Prince and Jean Béguin won this competition. Under their guidance, the building was constructed from 1922 to 1927. The two architects received support from Jacques Béguin, Jean's son, as well as the federal representative Alphonse Laverrière.
