The Trême is a 16.3 kilometer long left tributary of the Saane in the canton of Fribourg, Switzerland. It drains a section of the Fribourg Pre-Alps in the area of Greyerzerland and is part of the Rhine river basin. The Trême was first mentioned in documents in 1478 as Tremaz and Treme. This name derives from the Gaulish word Tragisama and means roughly "the very fast one."
The source area of the Trême is located in the region between the Niremont to the west and the Moléson range to the east on the municipality's territory of Semsales. On the Alp Tremetta on the western slope of the Moléson, the Ruisseau du Mormotey springs, which flows northeast through a valley with the mountain forest Joux de Riaz. At the slope of the Niremont, the Châ has its origin. At 1160 m above sea level, these two source streams merge, and the stream now called Trême flows north-northeast.
