This hike is the second stage of Tour du Val d'Hérens. The Col de Riedmatten (2900m) is a legendary passage, part of the route of the famous ski-mountaineering race "La Patrouille des Glaciers". Follow the six-kilometre-long Lac des Dix while approaching the magnificent summits that have been visible all day: Mont Blanc de Cheillon 3869 m, Le Pleureur 3703 m, Mont Collon 3637 m. Word of caution: the Col de Riedmatten section is narrow and very steep and the ladders of Pas de Chèvre are very exposed, but is no problem for experienced hikers.
