The most attractive and impressive high route in the Alps with views of the Bernese, Valais and part of the Italian Alps. The itinerary begins at Hannigalp summit station (accessible by cablecar) and leads up towards the chapel. There is a magnificent panorama of the Rhône Valley and the Bernese Alps to look forward to. For about 1h30 the trail follows the mountain range before dropping into the Balfrin Valley. From there the path climbs briefly to Bockwang then continues gradually to Stafelälpji above Saas-Balen. The final section of the route skirts the cliff wall down to Saas-Fee.
