Classic; however, if you are still looking for a challenge at the end of the Grüß-Gott trail, you can follow the green markings, which stand for a connecting trail, up towards the Lehmgrubenweg / Hlinita Cesta border crossing and the Cerchov trail with a length of 1.9 kilometers and an altitude difference of 111 meters. The trail begins with a challenge, because from here onwards you will have to use the narrow boards in places. Shortly after passing a high seat on the left-hand side, you should look carefully into the sparse forest on the right-hand side, as you can then spot an old boundary stone dating back to 1766. A few meters further on, after an open area, you enter the forest again and reach the Lehmgrubenweg border crossing (834 meters) with a canopy where cross-country skiers can take a break. From there, the route is flat for around 100 meters and then climbs steeply up to a forest road running across, where you turn right and come to a crossroads below the Lesni chata pod vodarnou / forest hut under the Brunnhäusl, better known as the Benda hut, which you can already see from here. Here you reach a section of the 13-kilometer-long Cerchov trail (Text: Karl Reitmeier). Together with the towns of Furth im Wald and Waldmünchen and the Czech region of Domažlicko, the Safety in Skiing Foundation (SIS) and the German Ski Association (DSV) have been working to develop the quality of the cross-country ski trail network in the Upper Bavarian Forest/Bohemian Forest in recent years. The trails have been certified as a cross-border DSV nordic active center according to international criteria, signposted with a uniform system and equipped with information boards.
