The Nürburgring in Adenau is a circuit that is especially known thanks to Formula 1, which annually settles there for the European Grand Prix. In the past, the course took drivers over 22 km, along 172 corners through the pine forests (the Nürburgring Nordschleife). But since the famous Austrian driver Niki Lauda had a severe (almost fatal) crash there, 'The Green Hell', as this circuit was called, is no longer used for F1 races.
