Heltorf Castle is located in the Düsseldorf district of Angermund in the northern part of the city on the Angerbach and at the city border to Duisburg. It is surrounded by an English landscape garden.
The castle was built to manage the agricultural and forestry lands in the surrounding area. It is a water castle. Forestry has been practiced in the area since the 12th century.
