The Bremecker Hammer is a listed hammer mill in Lüdenscheid, North Rhine-Westphalia, which today houses a museum dedicated to the history of blacksmithing.
The hammer, located on the upper reaches of the Verse near Lüdenscheid-Brüninghausen, is a vivid witness to ironworking activities from pre-industrial and early industrial times. It has been documented since 1753 and received its current architectural form around 1880. In 1972, the hammer was initially shut down, but was reactivated six years later. To keep the facility operational, all existing equipment and machines were restored. In 1980, the now-called Bremecker Hammer Blacksmith Museum of the city of Lüdenscheid was opened.
