Krummesse is a place located southwest of Lübeck, in southeastern Schleswig-Holstein along the Elbe-Lübeck Canal.
About 7.2 km² of the area belongs to the district of St. Jürgen in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck as the district of Krummesse, where just over 1000 inhabitants live. The rest of the area, which is 10.62 km² in size, is one of the eleven municipalities of the Berkenthin office in the northern part of the district of Herzogtum Lauenburg. However, these areas are not separated from one another, but are often interwoven. In extreme cases, municipal borders can cut through houses. Therefore, Krummesse is also considered a municipality with the longest city boundary in Germany when referring to the total area.
