Dobbin-Linstow

Dobbin-Linstow is the southernmost municipality in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The municipality is administered by the Krakow am See office, based in the town of the same name.
Dobbin-Linstow was formed on January 1, 2000, through the merger of the formerly independent municipalities of Dobbin and Linstow. The municipality covers an area of 65 km² and is located in a forested and very sparsely populated region of the Mecklenburg Lake District. The Linstower Lake is connected to the Krakow Lake in the west of the municipality by the upstream of the Nebel River. The southern half of the area of Dobbin-Linstow belongs to the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide nature park, which also extends into the neighboring districts of Ludwigslust-Parchim and Mecklenburg Lake District. The Krakower Obersee nature reserve was designated as early as 1939 and offers breeding and resting sites for a variety of waterfowl with its forest, marsh, and meadow areas. The area can be explored via a circular walking path with information boards.
