Tecklenburg is a town in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It has a picturesque medieval center with many half-timbered houses. The main attractions are the ruins of the castle with open-air theater.
The town lies in the Teutoburg Forest, a forest on top of a low mountain ridge. The known Hermannsweg is a path that follows the ridge.
