Tecklenburg is a beautiful town. The narrow cobblestone streets and the medieval, remarkably well-preserved half-timbered houses make up for many things. Tecklenburg was famous for its laundry, produced by diligent home workers. An old gate, Legge, recalls the Linne inspection. The forest around Tecklenburg is here and there almost un-Germanly chaotic (close-to-nature forest management) with numerous cavity-nesting birds.
