Neighboring municipalities are, starting in the northwest and moving clockwise, the municipalities of Wesselburenerkoog and Schülp, the city of Wesselburen, as well as the municipalities of Süderdeich and Hellschen-Heringsand-Unterschaar.
On April 1, 1934, the parish land community of Wesselburen was dissolved. All of its villages, village communities, and farmers' communities became independent municipalities/rural communities, including Norddeich. At that time, Norddeich had 474 inhabitants.
