Heuchlingen is located in the Leintal valley on the edge of the eastern Swabian Jura between Schwäbisch Gmünd and Aalen. The Lein River divides the municipality of Heuchlingen into two approximately equal halves.
The municipality borders Schechingen and the district of Laubach belonging to Abtsgmünd to the north, Aalen and Essingen to the east, Mögglingen and Böbingen on the Rems to the south, and Iggingen and the district of Horn belonging to Göggingen to the west.
