Winterhausen is a market town in the Lower Franconian district of Würzburg and a member of the Eibelstadt administrative community.
Winterhausen is located in the Regierungsbezirk of Lower Franconia, in the Mainfranken region, in the district of Würzburg. Directly across from Winterhausen, on the eastern bank of the Main, lies the town of Sommerhausen. The curious names of the two places originate from their patron saints. The patron saint of Sommerhausen, Bartholomew, has his feast day in summer, while the patron saint of Winterhausen, Nicholas, is celebrated in winter. The Franconian Mary Path runs through Winterhausen.
