Quedlingburg is a historic town in Saxony-Anhalt where Heinrich I was crowned king in 919; the origin of the first German state. It has the largest number of half-timbered houses in the country. In this place, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, many music festivals are organized.
