The municipality of Witzwort extends, according to the systematics of the natural spatial main units of Germany, in the eastern area of the natural region of Eiderstedter Marsch at the bend of the river Eider between Friedrichstadt and Tönning to the south in the northern bank area.
In addition to the main village of the same name, a church village, the municipality also includes scattered settlements such as Reimersbude and Büttel. They are located along the federal highways 5 and 202.
