Bensdorf [ˈbɛnsdɔʁf] is a municipality with over 1200 inhabitants in the western part of the state of Brandenburg. The municipality was established on July 1, 1950, through the merger of the four municipalities of Altbensdorf, Neubensdorf, Woltersdorf, and Vehlen. The name goes back to Altbensdorf, which was known as Bensdorf until the founding of Neubensdorf in the early 19th century. The municipality belongs to the Wusterwitz office.
Bensdorf, Vehlen, and Woltersdorf were, as far as is known, first mentioned in the 14th century. Attractions in the villages of the municipality include, for example, village churches. In addition, individual farmsteads are protected as historic monuments. The economy is predominantly agricultural. Certain areas of the municipality are designated as protected areas.
