Hochkreuz is a district of the federal city of Bonn in the northern part of the Bad Godesberg district and part of the federal quarter. It is named after a wayside cross that stood at the intersection of the federal road 9 with the road between Friesdorf and Plittersdorf.
The southwestern half of Hochkreuz lies in the municipality of Friesdorf, and its northeastern half, belonging to the Rhine floodplain, lies in the municipality of Plittersdorf. The statistical district Hochkreuz-Federal Quarter has a slightly different boundary than the district of Hochkreuz. In addition, it encompasses a narrow strip of the district of Friesdorf to the west of the federal road 9. Hochkreuz is part of the Catholic Rhine Quarter and the Protestant Thomas Church community.
